Asset register
Record equipment by site, location and category. Attach photographs and documents, and add the fields your own work needs.
Check out and return
Check an asset out to a member of staff or lease it to a customer. Returns, repairs and disposals all leave a history, so who holds what is never a guess.
Barcode lookup
Point a phone camera at the barcode on an asset and its page opens straight away.
Label printingTeam tier and up
Generate barcodes and QR codes and lay them out on A4 label sheets. Pick the stock you bought and the margins and spacing are worked out for you.
Hand-over receiptsTeam tier and up
Issue a receipt when something goes out and collect both signatures. The other party can sign through a one-time link without an account, and the signed PDF is filed under its document number.
Return reminders
Due dates, overdue assets and expiring leases are checked every day and emailed to the people responsible.
Notification centre
Overdue items, things due back, check-outs, returns, repairs and completed signatures collect in the beacon at the top right. Clicking one opens that asset and marks it read; the sidebar carries a count of what currently needs attention.
Physical audits
Start an audit for a site or location and the assets expected there become a checklist. Scan through it recording found, missing and found-elsewhere, and the result joins the history.
Library
Every photo and document filed against an asset, searchable in one place. Find the file when you cannot remember which asset it was attached to, and open the asset from it.
Per-member permissions
Layer individual permissions on top of roles: allow check-out while withholding disposal and sale. Narrowing which sites and categories somebody sees, so departments keep to their own, is on the Team tier and up.
Consumable stock
Things counted by quantity, kept apart from assets. Receipts, issues and adjustments build a ledger and the quantity in hand is their sum, so the number always has a reason. You are emailed when an item reaches its reorder point.
Depreciation
Give an asset its depreciable cost, salvage value, useful life and method and it carries a book value. Straight line, double declining balance, 150% declining balance and sum of the years’ digits, with a report that totals the book value across the register.
Import and backup
Upload the asset list you already keep and the columns are matched for you, with a preview before anything is written. Download the whole organization — photos included — as one ZIP that imports straight back.
API accessBusiness tier and up
A REST API for reading and writing assets and events, with keys you issue and revoke yourself, for wiring TagLoft into the systems you already run.
Anything without a badge is on the free tier.
The free tier counts three things
300 assets, 3 members, 100MB of storage. Nothing else is counted — sites, locations, categories, departments, people, customers and custom fields are all unlimited, and overdue alert emails still go out, up to a hundred a day. No card details, and no expiry date.
Moving from another tool
Upload the CSV your current asset tool exports and the columns are matched for you, with a preview of exactly what will be created before anything is. Assets, history, photos and documents come across together.
- The counts are the only limits. If your current tool meters sites, categories or custom fields, those restrictions disappear here.
- Overdue and due-back alert emails keep working on the free tier.
- Barcode and QR label printing, and signed handover receipts, are features most tools do not have at all.
- You can export the whole thing to CSV and ZIP whenever you like. This is not a tool that is only easy to enter.
- Depreciation comes across too — depreciable cost, salvage value, useful life, method and acquisition date are read straight from the CSV.
- Consumable stock is included in the tier, not sold as a separate plan, and you are emailed when an item drops to its reorder point.
And some things you would lose
- Contracts, insurance and funds — you can attach the documents to an asset, but nothing tracks their expiry.
- Warranty tracking — warranty expiry is not managed separately. Maintenance records are.
